About Us
We exist to make good AI accessible to every organisation.
askKira was built in 2023 because the gap between what AI could do and what most organisations were actually getting from it was — and still is — far too wide.
Built from the inside out.
askKira didn't start as a technology company. It started as a problem. Mark Unwin — working closely with schools and organisations across the UK — watched as AI became simultaneously the most talked-about and least well-governed technology most organisations had ever encountered.
Staff were reaching for free tools with sensitive data. Leaders were making decisions about AI without frameworks to guide them. And the enterprise AI platforms that existed were either too expensive, too generic, or too complex for most organisations to actually use well.
So in 2023, Mark co-founded askKira with Seth Shenbanjo and Lade Lorna Stockwood — with a clear belief: that safe, useful, organisation-specific AI should not be the exclusive preserve of large corporations with large budgets. It should be available to every school, every business, every organisation that wants it.
That belief hasn't changed. Everything we build — from the platform, to the white-label partnerships, to the AI Governance Newsletter — is in service of it.
To make safe, useful, organisation-specific AI accessible to everyone — not just those who can afford enterprise contracts.
We believe AI governance shouldn't be a luxury. That organisations shouldn't have to choose between productivity and safety. That the best AI tools should reflect how your organisation actually thinks — not how a generic model assumes it does. And that the people who build AI should be accountable to the organisations and communities they serve.
The principles that guide everything we build.
Safety First
askKira was originally built for children's safeguarding environments. Safety and data protection are not features — they are the foundation.
Usefulness Over Hype
We are not interested in AI for AI's sake. We are interested in AI that actually reduces workload, improves decisions and delivers measurable value.
Partnership, Not Product
Our best work comes from working alongside organisations — understanding their context, their constraints and their ambitions — not just selling them software.
Accessible by Design
Good AI governance should be available to a community school in Stoke as much as a corporate headquarters in London. We build and price accordingly.
Built by people who care about getting it right.
Mark Unwin
CEO & Co-FounderMark has spent his career working at the intersection of education, technology and leadership. He founded askKira after seeing first-hand the gap between what AI could offer organisations and what they were actually receiving. He writes the AI Governance Newsletter, speaks regularly on organisational AI, and connects with over 8,000 leaders weekly on LinkedIn.
Seth Shenbanjo
CTO & Co-FounderSeth leads the technical architecture and engineering of askKira — building the infrastructure that makes safe, bespoke, organisation-level AI possible at scale. His focus is on creating systems that are not just powerful but genuinely trustworthy: secure by design, simple to deploy and built to last.
Lady Lorna Stockwood
Co-FounderLorna brings deep expertise in organisational design, stakeholder engagement and the practical realities of deploying technology into complex institutions. Her experience spans education, the third sector and business — giving askKira the perspective to build AI that works for real people in real organisations, not just in demos.
From idea to infrastructure.
askKira is founded
Mark Unwin, Seth Shenbanjo and Lade Lorna Stockwood co-found Public Sector Analytics Limited and launch askKira — originally built to serve schools and safeguarding environments, where data security demands are at their highest.
First schools go live
The platform launches with its first cohort of schools and MATs — built by teachers, trained by teachers, deployed by teachers. The feedback shapes the product from day one.
Expanding into business
askKira extends beyond education into the business sector — responding to growing demand from organisations who need to govern AI use, eliminate shadow AI risk and deploy secure, branded AI infrastructure.
White-label partnerships launch
askKira begins its first white-label partnerships — building bespoke AI products for organisations that want to deploy AI under their own brand, trained on their own content and aligned to their own commercial model.
Bounce AI launches
The most ambitious white-label project to date — Bounce AI, a combinational AI product uniting Bounce Together, Bounce Forward and askKira. Built from concept to launch in partnership with Lucy Bailey and the Bounce Forward team.
8,000+ leaders and growing
The AI Governance Newsletter reaches 8,000 subscribers. The platform serves thousands of users across hundreds of organisations. And the mission — safe, useful, accessible AI for every organisation — remains exactly what it was on day one.
